Oh for fuck sakes, this thread is going no where but it's the moderator involved in unrelated banter. Here's what would prove your point: Lock the thread, and if there's any argument as to why.. well damn, your point has already been made plainly.
i dont think you guys should lock this thread, some of this stuff is pretty good

lol, u called it a method, i just used your word, call it whatever you like, dont jump all over me about it. as i see it, its a bunch of primary sources for you to discuss, but you arent discussing the material as much as its length. you could have read it 3 times with the time you are spending returning to the thread to comment again on the length.Varegg wrote:
Method ? ... what method ?
You post just quotes, how about you share your views on the matter rather than just posting quotes ?
I hardly think people come on bf2s and deeply studies 30 minutes worth of quotes ...
So OP's can't be educational? Teaching isn't appropriate? Half the value of the quotes is exactly who said them. How can I better explain that the thread would be infinitely worse if it was just me paraphrasing what stands just fine on its own? Which of the people I quoted are you criticizing? Or are your criticisms entirely directed at me for repeating their words in this forum? I would only be diluting the facts presented by allowing you to interpret them, or some of them, as my own.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Do you see the difference, and why this form of "teaching" is not appropriate here?
Nope, not there. But there are websites where you can find these quotes. Without the internet, average folks would most likely never encounter most of these. You will notice that many of these quotes warn against the centralization of power. It does not serve my cause of posting these to attempt to tie them to one website, news source, party, or ideology. these quotes come from disparate people and if anything, they encourage us to think and act on those terms: as individuals.CaptainSpaulding71 wrote:
i found alot of these same quotes here:

did you get them from this source? note that there is a special section on banking at the bottom
So people will act upon and change their views on different issues based on quotes alone ?
Those quotes was made in context with an event and should be used in just the same way ... a quote alone is just that ... a quote ...
You still haven't convinced me that this is nothing but a pure quote database ... this section is called Debate and Serious Talk not archive of useful stuff ...

A good read. T. Jefferson was a very smart man.
Anyway, when are you Americans going to exercise your constitutional right to beer arms and shoot the bastards.

Oh Hai, I drop by every so often. Just thought I would comment on this thread.
Long list of quotes=Me guessing what your point is.
My honost first impression was that you think there is a conspiracy theory involving the Federal Reserve. It also includes the UN and the WTO. I read most of the quotes.
Why are there quotes from Hitler showing how sheepish people are?

"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation" - Barack Obama (a freshman senator from Illinios)
To me, this is very interesting right here. It looks like after 9/11, and the subsequent hype about a conspiracy there, that this term, "conspiracy", has been demonized. One cannot talk about a conspiracy, or even imply that there might be one without being labelled a lunatic "tin-foil hat" person. I mean ok, I know that there's this crowd - mainly in the US - that mixes together this bad government thing with aliens and demons and shit, and all this kind of puts normal people off. But this current situation is getting out of hand on the other direction.CaptainSpaulding71 wrote:
however, by simply spamming quotes, it gives the impression that it is some kook who is a conspiracy theorist wearing a tin-foil hat. i hope you are not like this and you probably are not - it's just that your execution on this thread appears to make you out to be this.
The Federal Reserve debate has fallen - sadly - into this category of "conspiracies" and since then nobody takes it seriously. And that's too bad, because it's not the same as aliens living in our basements.
So what the fuck is a conspiracy anyway? In the case of the FD, it's a few rich people getting together and creating a plan to earn money from the government - and subsequently the people. It's a very big scam if you will.
Of course, when the government owns you money, you get to control it as well. So then we move on to another sphere - that of what happens to the will of the people etc. And maybe things there get a little too complicated and hush hush for some people, and they forget what this is mainly about.
Anyway to me, this looks quite natural. I mean, hell, if my last name was Morgan or Rockefeller (sp?) I might have done the same thing!

pretty much yeah. but its worse than that, the us federal reserve is nowhere near as powerful as the world bank, international monetary fund, or bank of international settlements. most of those quotes that u read talking about resistance to the fed in the US are based on the fact that the rothchild/morgan/senator aldrich interests wanted to legally acquire the private and monopolized right to print US currency (and got it in 1913). it had been an ongoing battle since our revolution to hold onto our right to print money as a nation, as ben franklin put it in the above quote, this freedom from the european system of central banks was the primary cause of the american revolution. europe had given up this right centuries before with the rise of the rothschild central banks of britain, germany, france, and i forget which other eu countries (today all of them have central banks). the main difference is that our monetary freedom only collapsed early last century. today, nowhere in the world is safe from their market manipulation. i bet you read about a lot of former colonies that were "liberated" in the last century, don't be surprised if they were liberated with central banks installed and a mountain of adjustable (only by the bankers) debt. not to mention that there are less than 30 countries left in the world that do not have US military bases. when the banks own our government/military, and they own the UN, we are obviously taking big risks disregarding the matter.JahManRed wrote:

sounds like you got the general idea, although a conspiracy is supposed to be secret. read the David Rockefeller or Caroll Quigley quotes. its no secret that they seek ownership of world trade and world government. they speak openly about it. they are confident that by now we love the establishment and "safety net" more than our previous freedom and they know that if we resist, we are already landless and effectively powerless. they can hike the price of gas and let us starve out our differences any day. odds are they will just let it happen during a disaster or terrorist attack and we will believe there was no other way and that complicated market forces lead to poverty just like in 1929. dont be surprised if we beg the UN to save us.LividBovine wrote:

Why are there quotes from Hitler showing how sheepish people are?
the hitler quotes largely establish the fact that our government now employs many of the same tactics and reads us many of the exact same rationales that the germans heard from hitler. many of them honestly thought they were bringing a better way of life to the world, or "freeing" people. they didnt realize that the bottom line was power grabbing and robbery until the eastern european jews and disabled people were already in the ovens. are we going to let them build a whole nazi superstate today as long as we haven't smelled the jews burning yet?
dont get me wrong, we cant go around equating all things nazi with overt criminality, but we can easily conclude that if hitler was never allowed to concentrate power to the extent that he did, it would never have been possible for him to commit the crimes on the scale that he did. today we are facing a cabal of corporate leaders and bankers that control far more industry than hitler ever touched, and its not hard to dig up the evidence linking the banking families and their rise to power, and the Bush family for that matter, to hitlers rise to power. the current governments/corporations have thousands of military bases, and an unknown number of secret bases, including those underground.
allowing anybody to have that much potential to rob you or hurt you is sort of equivalent to living in a glass house with open doors and all your possessions out on the front lawn including loaded firearms. you havent necessarily lost anything in that scenario, but u would be so vulnerable to harm living that way that you just wont encounter such a household of people. because the idea of being controlled from afar by credit is moderately abstract, and because television almost never implies the fundamentally fascist state of the current world order, we are largely blind to our fragile, disposable lifestyle and love many more things about it than we would wish to change. Unfortunately, our lifestyle is on loan.
"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists." - J. Edgar Hoover
youre right, it isnt a particularly surprising scam to attempt. except for the fact that theyve managed to take it so far and buy up so much of the world/industry. certainly nothing similar has been accomplished on a global level in world history, thanks for the post.oug wrote:

Having recently read his autobiography and writings I must say I agree. He was a strong advocate of individual rights and was worried that people like James Madison would take the sovereignty away from the people. If you ever get a chance watch the HBO miniseries John Adams.JahManRed wrote:

It is simple. $ = debt = slavery. In every sense is that literal.
Maybe a more tasty way would have been to select a few of these quotes and apply them to current citrcumstances:
"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson
EMINENT DOMAIN ABUSE
"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happened, you can bet it was planned that way." - Franklin D. Roosevelt
THE FUCKING BORDER ISSUE
"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford
WHY THE HELL DID WE EVER ABANDON THE GOLD STANDARD?!?
etc.
There are great pearls of wisdom in these quotes. Also, there is something to be said of individual style. Perhaps by the triple quote he is doing the Equililant of standing on a roof top and screaming " hey everybody! Wake. The. Fuck. Up! "
Perhaps we should just all read the quotes and think about it.
This threads beats any miserable sports thread ever posted in DST.

my comment on tin-foil hat thing was due to the seemingly mish-mash of various quotes the guy posted from various topics all thrown together. this to me distracts from his underlying argument. further i have found many of these same quotes floating all over the conspiracy web sites (which i provided a link to in one of my posts here) and he replied saying he didn't get them from there. still, i just question his methods since they seem...welll...wacky.oug wrote:

if he would have simply posted say 40 quotes (the number is really immaterial) and then had them all aligned to the same subject - then (and this is most important), had 1-2 paragraphs explaining his position, then this is the normal way that 99.9% of the debate on this forum behaves and there wouldn't have been any question - just normal debate. that was my point.
do i think the federal reserve is evil? i honestly don't know. i know nothing about it. what IS interesting about this thread is that it got me thinking about it. if that was the intent - then great - score one for Marinejuana. i just think his methods are poor and would be way more effective to including more people if he would have executed it like every other debate on here.
Nobody listens to the insane person standing on the soap box in the middle of the street screaming. The Aristotle wandering around on street level asking individuals questions however can garner attention.ATG wrote:

Are you kidding me?
CaptainSpaulding, either way people will still call out "tin-foil hat" because when provided with facts, they just say "well u sound crazy" or "you are on crack". Maybe what some of the things conspiracy theorists say isn't rational or logical, but I guess it either means the "crazies" and "conspiracy nuts" are wrong and delusional, or your own disbelief is a symptom of your conditioned state by the powers that be. Time will tell, and that time is arriving very soon.
The one thing that is true is that most people have very little to no understanding of our monetary system. And the poor sods who go to college and take economics really don't either. They get indoctrinated with Keynesian and Monetarist ideals, which have a flawed understanding of economics. Look at the global down turn, and how the news says "no one expected it to get this bad". Of course not... the Keynesians and Monetarists always have everything figured out when things go right but when things go wrong everyone gets blindsided and no one can really come to consensus to why things went the way they did.
A perfect example: Alan Greenspan was praised to be the greatest central banker of modern times during the housing boom. Afterwards, now he receives scorn and blame for the current mess, and rightfully so. But do you want to know who saw it coming? Not the Keynesians, not the Monetarists, it was the Austrians.
