THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. Grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it?  Tough!   Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel ass!!!
I somehow don't think OPEC relies on U.S Grain as much as the U.S relies on OPEC Oil

But for a second, whilst I was reading that, at first I was like "yeah, YEAH MOTHERFUCKERS"

Then I serious'd

Yeah, but if the US and Canada formed a OPEC for Grain they could fucker up the Middle East by driving the cost of the worlds grain up to $40 a bushel over night.

Let them eat sand.

There is a global grain inventory and the yanks contribute a shit load.  But comparing grain to oil well only a pissed american would do that.

And anyway its doing quite well even though there is drought down under.

No sarcasm.

To me as an American, I would give the EU peeps everything for 1/2 price and stick it to those greedy middle Eastern Snobs!

You mean they're obliged to sell you oil at 1c a barrel? Why of course makes perfect business sense.

If Saudi Arabia is a great friend to the USA we should get a deal is all I am saying, since we have only had their ass covered for the last 60 or so years! So you think we shouldn't be getting a better deal than let's say China, who could have given a fuck about them until they needed something from them!?! Yeah sounds fair. How about remembering who has your back.

Saudi doesn't hold a monopoly over oil. Oil is a commodity and its price fluctuatates due of many reasons, the 2 main culprits being to geopolitics and speculation.  Saudi has zero control over these 2 factors.

The world of oil is big business my friend with lots of little nasty people screwing the world over to make a fast buck.

I want another post that shows USA pictures of our cars 30 years ago and pictures 10 years from now that show us all on bikes.
All I know is that something is a tad bit wrong when we are regressing as a nation and the middle East is just thriving. Someone is f#%$ing ME!

It's not wrong, history has repeatedly demonstrated that superpowers never last.  Power and momentum will always shift to those that have the resources to continue.

It was tempting for sure.  I have a couple Friends who did invest in various things there, and it has not done anything yet.  I agree though, the jury is still out for now.

So your saying my quality of life should suffer at the hands of my so called friends?

The United States Obituary is going to read like this;

Here lies a great Country, that met it's demise being back stabbed by it's friend's. It wasn't instant death, it was a slow and painful death.

No I'm saying your quality of life will adjust according to the lifestyle the country you reside in is able to afford you.  If your nation is on a downward spiral expect your lifestyle to potentially follow suit.

I wouldn't refer to Saudi as 'friends' the nations that you want to assist the US only have a obligation to look after its own people and you i am afraid are not of their concern.  Ultimately you only do business with another nation if it is mutually beneficial in the case of the US and Saudi it boils down to oil for military weapons.

Once a mutually beneficial relationship ceases to exist, don't expect any favours.

He feels the Saudi's and the OPEC gang bangers are stabbing the US in the back with the cost of oil given the US have protected them for the last 60 years or so.

A few holes here and there in his reasoning though...

do you think U.S. will invade some of the other countries in middle east if the oil situation gets even tighter? since Israel is looking to take out Iran with or without U.S.'s help, plus Israel has around 150 nukes, do you think U.S. will help them (in my opinion they will) conquer and destroy some of those other nations who Israel feels are a threat to them?
