So, I have a problem.  It fucking pisses me off.  No...actually, words can't express how much it frustrates me.  Anyway, the problem is random "There is a problem with your connection" messages.  There's no pattern at all to them.  If I join a certain server and I get a lot of "connection problems" one day, the next day I can join the exact same server and have no problems at all.  They last about 4-10 seconds (and usually occur RIGHT after I've spotted an enemy, hence the fucking pissing me off), and occur at least once a minute...GRRR!

As I use a land-line cable modem that regularly gives me >400 KBps transfers I doubt the connection itself is at fault.

I run no other programs in the background when I play except Fraps (a screenshot/frame-rate utility that uses ~2 MB of RAM).  I just scanned for viruses and spyware...two hours ago, and if anything that's made things worse?

System specs (maybe the shitty computer is somehow responsible?) =2.4 GHz Pentium 4, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9550  (With a system like this I run my graphics on Off/Low/Medium at 800x600)

Any help would be appreciated.

make sure you're not losing packets anywhere. To do this, go to start -> run and type in "command"

In the window that opens up, type in ping www.anywebsite.com -t (where anywebsite is any web site you feel like, i use google.) This will ping that website constantly until you close the window or hit ctrl-c. Now go ahead and play normally, and when you get disconnected from the server check the little window and see if any packets were dropped.

If everything seems to be ok with your connection, I dont know what to tell you. I've been getting alot of "your connection to the server has been lost" messages since the last patch, but I dont even get the luxury of lagging out. My screen will just freeze, and the next thing I know im staring at the server browser. Good times.

Yup, I have a Amd 4400+ and 2 X 7800 GTX cards just to play this fucking game and its been mostly a heartache. Assigning a dual core system like mine to zero affinity works most of the times but I agree the connection problems are inconsistant and therefor, game related.
What keeps me going? The few stretches when the games works good, the realism is unmatched and playing with real people makes it cool. The head phones, some ganja and beer and its like I'm there capping Taliban ass myself.

I know how you feel. Once I was playing endgame Mashtuur. Climbed up a building to find a sniper. I took my shock paddles to electrocute him but all of a sudden,

"You are experiencing connection problems"

Lasted 7 or so seconds, and before I got to shock him, the round ended. Cue a Darth Vader style "NOOOOOOOOOO".

Mmm, good stuff guys.  "Thanks champ."  I'll make sure to try out that suggestion, Skruples.

Great to know (well maybe "great" is not the best word, but you know what I mean) I'm not the only guy with these problems.

ChapmanUK: I've noticed too that recently the "problem with your connection" messages have been getting a lot more frequent.  Could be that 1.2 patch?  Or just more players on average on each server, which would make lag worse?  Beats me...
