What's your video card saying? You still using the 7600GT?

Yep, and the E7200 is released since months back. I'm just awaiting cash..Sup wrote:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Depends really, the E7200 has 3MB of L2, 45nm and comes out of the box @ 2.5Gizz. Whilst the E2180 is half the price, has 1/3 of the L2 and is 65nm and comes out of the box @ 2Gizz
Dunno really. Is the extra price that much more worth it? Because it's 45nm, you'd probably be able to clock it further. Especially if you're getting P4's @ 4.00Ghz. I dunno, I think I'll change my mind and say keep the P4 until you can buy the E7200.
Your life revolves around PC's, so it's not like you're going to spend the money on anything else. Might aswell try to get the best shit.

Pfft, I know Hooker is a surname. Why on earth would I want to pay for that?Gooners wrote:

So I am building an E7200, DS3L and 3870 system for my GF's dad. I talked to him about OCing, and he said to go with a moddest OC of 3.6GHz. So after I installed everything, I set it to 3.6GHz with 1.264v vcore. Then I ran CoreTemp and saw the Vid is 1.100v !
What a waste of a potentially high OCing CPU!!!

Also, I'm getting a second-hand top-batch E7200, for 80€ and a 512MB SDRAM module. It's confirmed to go to over 5GHz on LN2, so 4 on air shouldn't be a problem. It'll arrive at DU's place some time next week, hopefully I'll get it the upcoming week, too.

wtf do you need 512mb of SDRAM, to add to your (now emptier) pile of shit?
Sounds like a good deal though

Well, the one Freezer is getting has gone 5.3GHz, so it is expectedly a great OC'er too.

@Sup: Yes, I looked at the picture. There are E7200s with VIDs under a volt, and some with over 1.3.DeathUnlimited wrote:

Here's the 5.3GHz suicide run pic of the one I'm getting:
Don't know the VID, but one with over 1.2 wouldn't go that far on "only" 1.9v.
