No, it's definitely real - I saw a piece on a TV program about it and how no one believes it's real and how sick we all are for thinking that (to paraphrase).
The 'explosion' sounds a little too loud for what is essentially air.

While I do agree the clip looks fake, the title says it's from the documentary/movie, Faces of Death, which was a compilation of real deaths from the 70's. My professor was telling me about it a few months ago. If it is actually from that film, than that was a real death.

Can't believe people pay to watch this. And the makers actually try to pass it off as real.
Looked fake. I was wondering how they did it all day. At first, I thought maybe like magicians, they used something to distract the human eye. In this case, the kid running down and jumping. As he appears on the scene, we watch him while the camera switches to a different reel with a "fake" guy. Possible dummy with asplodable head. Something triggers the explosion, body falls back.
Also, the arms looked odd when he fell back.
