16:9 or 16:10 for gaming?

I still use a CRT monitor myself because I can't afford an LCD of any sort let alone a widescreen one. But what should I get when the time comes? 16:9 or 16:10?

What is more supported by games, like 2142 or anything coming out soon.

I know that a lot of Steam games support both.

Only if you get a shit one.

Over 10ms is horrishit for gaming. 5 and under (BTB, not GTG), and you won't notice much difference from a CRT. I just went from a CRT to a 24" 5ms BTB LCD, and I barely notice the response time. Good LCDs also often provide better-ish colours, as CRTs are harder to set correctly.

EDIT: 16:10 here. It's good for all games that support it. 16:9 is a bit too wide for most things, and won't lend you much height, unless you go with full HD. But even then, a full HD 16:9 monitor only provides 30 pixes, the equivalent of an XP start button height, more height over a 16:10 1680x1050 monitor.

@GGFORCE: While this has never happened to me, I have been told that some people have been kicked/banned for using WidescreenFixer. Doesn't stop me, though, I still use it. And another thing, I would love if 1.5 added WS! The gui and text looks really ugly when stretched out.
