Making your own is cheaper and will get you a better price/performance ratio.

However, if not, Newegg has some decent pre-builts. What's your budget?

Yeah building is cheaper and you can get better performances in some cases. Its not very tough either but if you're tech challenged then it might be wise to buy a pc someone else assembled. Playing around with expensive equipment is not advised when you don't know what you are doing

Get the parts. I can guide you over webcam, if you so like. Anything to spare the horror of prebuilt! Just give us a budget, and we'll choose the finest parts for you.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Ask you parents what they want you to do when you grow up. If they want you to be anything more prestigious then an assembly line worker go from there.

Assembly workers are generally uneducated and unmotivated people scraping through the workday, if they can do it YOU CAN TOO!
The manufacturers design components for these people to assemble. To minimize error all the pieces really only fit together one way.

It will be a good learning experience, and will give you a deeper understanding of what a computer is... and how to fix one with out them having to pay a ton for tech support.

Do some research, book mark pages with good info...Then go over that info with them. It is really really really easy to do honestly.

With all the expertise this forum you would be a fool not to build your own.

Sounds Yeah I know everything goes together just one way, that's common sense...well besides compatibility things such as bus types...and yeah I'm aware everything goes together fairly easy. It just feels like whenever I make an effort something fails. But hey, it's worth a shot. -getting msn nao...-
