This year has been pretty awesome for me so far when it comes to gigs. So Far I've already seen The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Neil Young, Stanley Clarke, Hayseed Dixie, Gary Numan, Joe Satriani and on Friday I'm going to see Bootsy Collins...but yesterday I managed to get tickets for a gig I never thought I'd get to see, a band called The Residents.
The Residents are probably one of the weirdest bands on the planet, they've been around since the 70's and yet no one still really knows who exactly they are. They are famous for their distinctive eyeball helmets and bizarre live shows, which are as much performance-art pieces as they are music shows. Anyone who's into weird music like Frank Zappa or Primus would be well advised to check these guys out. They're playing the Forum in London in December.
