I haven't noticed that at all, and I live in burien (around 15 minutes away from Seattle).  I go to Seattle often to dinner, shopping and to stroll.

P.S.  The dining is great. A couple restaurants I recommend:  Lola's, Dahlia Lounge, Etta's, Cutter's (Some of those are expensive), there are others but they are escaping me at the moment.
