exactly, stop quoting me with your shite
you need 3Gb to run bf2 on vista (of course if you prefer 800x600 and all low go ahead with your 512mb)
Or you can go with 1 or 2gb 1024x768 all low and get perfectly playable fps.

So again, stop talking shite.

Don't listen to this guy, you can damage components either by the huge amounts of static vacuum cleaners create or by sucking components off your mobo/gpu etc.

512MB? What the fuck are you on about?

You need 2GB to run BF2 on Vista, actually. I used to run (3 months back) BF2 on high at high res, with 2GB, and it worked fine.

So actually, you're the one talking shite.
for f8ck sake..i was upgrading my pc from the day this stupid game came out and i know for sure that vista requires you to have 3GB ram....in order to get rid of the lag when the game starts... xp will do just fine with 2 GB
I'm talkin from my personal experience.
Of course if you use 1200 ghz dimm's,then of course 2 gb will work just fine...

I have 2gb's of cheap, budget ram and a budget GPU and I can run bf2 with no loading lag on vista, with xfire, ventrilo and IRC running at the same time.

So again, you do not need 3gb of ram to run bf2 on vista.

This is only a very recent thing, so shut up.

I can (read:used) to be able to run it fine on 2BG..

Use a vacuum cleaner + compressed air. Just don't let the vacuum hose touch components.

lmfao. or not. just use a mouthpiece with bristles and you won't suck anything off.
also about static; remove all cables from the computer and touch a radiator before before your begin. when you're done, touch the case and the radiator at the same time to remove all static.
i've vaccumed this computer for like 4 years and it still runs ace. just use your head <3

You can run battlefield on vista with as little as 1.5gigs, just that other system processes would use your hard drive for memory.

What is most perferable is 2.5 gigs, where you can store battlefield and background processes in all your RAM without using a slow hard drive.

Most of the tech-related posts in this topic make me facepalm continously.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
