Only just realised that my DVD isn't playing sounds, with legit DVDs I hasten to add!! Plays visuals fine though.

I don't use the player all that often tbh which is why I've only just noticed lol. I use daemon tools for BF2 and ironically I bought this new DVD player last year because the old one was being tempramental

Have checked on device manager and it says it's working correctly so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to look at next.

Any ideas?

Drive is : LG GSA-H10NBAL 16x16DVD±RW 12x RAM Dual Layer

Thanks in advance

Tried VLC?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I take it VLC is a DVD playing software?

I must admit I hadn't thought of using something other than WMP so I'll try that. Thanks.

It isnt defaulting to DTS by any chance?  I had a player that kept doing that on DTS discs and my tv couldnt decode it, thus no sound.  Make sure it's on Dolby Digital for one thing.  Took me three days to realise that was my problem when I had no sound :\
