Some of the stuff that never made the news back in those days would probably shock a lot of people in mainland Britain.JahManRed wrote:

They would have been busy. About 50 workmen seen it. Ppl back then knew it wasn't in their best interest to talk about shit they seen.
Sounds like quite alot of you live in Northern Ireland by the sounds of things. Or at least used to.
My stance on the whole thing is, re-unite Ireland. Protestant/Catholic. Who cares, they're both Jesus fanboys at the end of the day.

Allot of it was being done in their names. So it made sense to keep it off the news.Braddock wrote:

Makes no odds now. Because the ppl who did the killing which made it to the news are all out on the streets now.
Yeah that allways made me laugh. Most of the idiots who were involved who I know/knew didn't even believe in god yet in their eyes they were engaged in some kind or religious war. They are people with hate in their hearts.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

The people I know/knew who were involved who were just ordinary ppl with jobs, children etc was never a religious thing. It was turned into that by the idiots. It was a nationalist versus Unionist problem. A question of nationality. In Ireland's long struggle with the British the Protestant and Catholic Irish men both fought the British.
The current problem is because our Planters see themselves as British. And even the thought of being labeled Irish or from the Island of Ireland makes the ill. Well hello.........you live on the Island of Ireland. Britain is next door,
Exactly...religion was only ever a handy way of distinguishing who was on each side. It was never a defining factor for the struggle.JahManRed wrote:

It's a conspiracy! The government is conducting secret operations and covering it up! They are obviously rounding up anti-EU activists and silencing them. Especially in the wake of that Lisben thing. Use your heads! Wake up, Ireland!Braddock wrote:
