hi guys

Wonder if someone can explain this and make sense unlike the paypal help pages.

Ok i have registered for a paypal account and have a working email/password for it. I am currently waiting for Paypal to deposit the small funds in my current account to confirm before I am ready to go.

I need to send £50 to a friend of mine for a case which was shipped for me.

If I simply transfer from my current account to his through paypal are there any extra charges?

Which option do I select, services/other, goods or other?

never used paypal before ... obviously =P

cheers.

There are no charges unless you're sending more than $1000 in a month.

The Dialogs are just so the other person knows WTF they just got $$ for.

I would put service/other.

I would think that the only one that takes your money is the Ebay option, but to be honest I've never used Paypal for anything other than Ebay/newegg.

When you use it for Newegg does it take any surcharges on top of what you spend @ newegg?

Paypal doesn't surcharge you at all unless you have a business account or you spend >1000$/month.

On eBay, you pay eBay directly with your Credit Card for the auction fees.

Not sure about Newegg, but I doubt it.

It won't charge you, but the recipient will only get £48.10.

I managed to set up a debit card instead which was instant. I transferred £50 to my friend but £51 has been debited from my account. Huh?

That's ... unheard of! Screenshot of the Paypal transaction and your bank statement? (removing all details of course)
