Whos got it?

I have a few questions...

In AZ the permit process seems easy enough, but the Licence itself has me all "wtf"

The testing process, which consists of another written exam based on the Motorcycle Operator Manual, a medical and vision screening, and on-bike skills tests, is the same for everyone who is applying to become a licensed motorcycle driver, but drivers of different ages and driving backgrounds will have different requirements to begin the testing process.
I'm just wondering what a medical screening is, and if you need perfect vision or something..... and what the heck is on-bike skills test? Does that mean I have to have some guy twice my weight on the back of a bike and me having to drive him around?

Because for my drivers license I had to drive with someone (of course) but I mean with a bike, its a little different...

can anyone help me out or give me a heads up on this one? I'm in no rush, but I was talking to someone about it and I plan on getting it and I was doing a little reading

On bike skills test is you driving around and a course/parking lot while you are watched and graded.

In here, you are tested blindspots, balancing on a plank for 7 seconds, e-stop, figure 8, crank course, and going up a slope without moving down.

Here in Aus ours is pretty easy, you just get your eyes checked and then you have to do a day course where you do a bit of theory and the actual riding test, which involves emergency braking, low speed maneuvering and balance.

wat do you mean? The thing about the fat guy was because the guy who did my drivers test was about 350lbs and barely fit in the seat of an Acura TL, and im 135lbs so that wouldnt work on a bike

So how long does the actual test take?

that sounds tedious... :\

Got in Florida within the last 3 months.

Motorcycle endorsement requirements vary from state to state.  The law now here (recently changed (2 days ago)) requires a motorcycle safety course.  Before, there was a written test and then a small course set up to test skills.  The class method was better.  The class I went to was all weekend long (8-5 Sat/Sun), there was bikes for all to ride and we learned skills (swerving, and other basic shit).  At the end of the class there was a riding test.  100% here, and it fucking poured the entire time.

My advice to you?  Take a riding safety course, never use your front brakes in a turn, look out for the other assholes on the road, and don't buy a crotch rocket to go 200 miles per hour -or you will eventually die.

I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

We'll all eventually die

Big heavy motorcycles like Harley's are just as dangerous as sport bikes.  They're sluggish and much less responsive than a sport bike and they weigh more which is dangerous if it lands on you/hits you in an accident.  I say get the sport bike but don't go 200 MPH.

For my motorcycle permit in about an hour

I'm sick though, so it's going to suck, and so will my pic, probably (assuming I pass)

idk, last time I didnt really read the book for my regular permit test, and failed that test, but second time after reading it all I got it

I'm hoping ill get this one first try also... If I get it I might get my drivers license this weekend... I have to do 20 hours worth of class and hands on training for it... I think its 3 days worth of shit, which is good because I have a 3 day weekend.... But tbh I might wanna be spending that at my gf's house...

oh well, lets just get it over with

any tips for the test taking as far as the motorcycle? Things they will probably ask that I should REALLY know? (srs, not 'cheat')

This is the bike my dad got...

Rather annoyingly, in Northern Ireland, for the first two years of owning a motorcycle license you are limited to 125cc. However, some great bikes are still <125cc (Aprilia RS125, Cagiva Mito etc)

In AZ if its under 100cc (The bike you test with) you get a type "J" license, which restricts you from driving something more that 100cc, and it restricts you from driving on the highway

I thought if you used your back break in a turn you would lock the back wheel?

when I illegally ride my mates (hes a chav btw) bike I never like to use the breaks in a turn anyway.

what about a bandit 650 not too much power fairly fast will do 140ish if pushed hard cheap to buy and cheap to insure.

From people I know who have bikes italian and german bikes are always more to insure.

Well the most similar bike they sell in the us to the bandit 650 is the GSX650F basically the same bike but with lower fairing and a few suspension mods and about another £200.
