I have a G7 wireless mouse that I just bought the other month. It's been fine up until yesterday when it started cutting out intermittentely at about every 20 seconds for maybe 5 seconds...sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, and I'm unable to play games when it does.

Any solutions?

Are there still lights on it when it cuts out?

Does it happen with both batteries?

Does it work on other computers?

Does it happen with other mice on that computer?

- Yes.

- Yes.

- Haven't tried yet, but I will

- Nope, although I only have one other wireless mouse and it's on PS/2, not USB like this.

You really should go with a G5 unless you're using a laptop.

Nothing's working.

I can still return it to Newegg, so if there's no solutions that work, I'll get one.

Meh my G7 has been working fine for months... Don't blame it on the model, it's just yours,

Yeah, a PS2 mouse would use different drivers.

I'd test it on another computer, and if it doesn't work then you can safely say it's just a dodgey mouse and RMA it. As J5689 said, a G5 would be a better choice (IMO, but I just hate changing mouse batteries in the middle of a game. I have a G7 as well which I use on my Linux box - what a waste ).

Had mine for 2 years I think, maybe longer, still using it

For about two months it would intermittently double click (holy shit I just spelled intermittently without a mistake) when I single clicked it. Made selecting files a bitch.

Then it just stopped. I didn't fix anything. It just stopped. I guess it fixed itself

Bottom line, if my G7 spontaneously combusted for no apparent reason (or just stopped working) I'd gladly cough up some dough for a new one, or RMA it for a new one in your case....

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Just get a new one. I like G7's better than the wired G5 anyway. And the people at best buy ARGUED with me for 10 minutes that I should get a G5, that id be much happier with it.... well LOL in their faces!

My old G5 did that once.

It's probably just defective, get a different one.

Well, a fix using Logitech's connection software via Setpoint seems to be working now...we'll see how long this holds up.

Fast support by them, btw. Got an answer in 2 hours to my e-mail.

Just get rid of it and get a G5 anyway to avoid future problems.  Wireless on desktops seems yet to be practical in my opinion.

It's got more of a niche on a desktop system as apposed to a laptop. Point being: How far are you going to be from a laptop when the screen and keyboard are embedded not inches away from the USB ports? There's absolutely no point to wireless mouse with a lappy.

However, with certain implementations of desktop machines (which you could do but would not be proper for a laptop) like using a projector as a monitor or as a HTPC wireless peripherals have their place.

Yeah I guess.  The reliability seems to be lacking though, that's what I was getting at.  I don't have any wireless things on my system and I like that way.

My G5 used to do the same thing.

I've stopped buying Logitech protects, I don't have any luck with them.

I'm the opposite.

G11, G5, random Mice, etc all sucked or had to get warranty support.

Everytime I've gone to a Razer alternative I've not regretted it.
