got the 5 series myself (1080p tho)

they're great, only cost me 750 euros... (some deal)

but you might wanna get some more money? otherwise that Samsung is good.

or what are you going to do with it?  usual TV Watching, DVD? Blu Ray?

dunno about contrast Ratio tho, (Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 8500:1 ) higher the better.

found mine:

think bit too pricey? then the HD Ready one is good

Samsung (his post)

is

A: Cheaper
B: Better Contrast Ratio (8500:1 - 7000:1)
C: 3x HDMI to 2x HDMI (not that big of a deal but ya never know)
D: Looks better

what does the RRP stand for anyway? with the pricing?

never mind Recommended retail price

Nice TV AlphA but I dont honestly think its worth the extra £170 just to get 1080p with 1420p coming rounf the cornor.

For the moment it will just be used as a TV/DVD and connected to PC

That looks like a great TV but what is its response time?  That's important for gaming but I don't see it listed in the specs.  You may want to look into that because if it has a response time of 8+ ms, it might not work so well with video games.

Fair play, on anything less than a 37'' you probably wont see the difference between 1080 and 720.  I have a 40'' Samsung 6series and it's 1080 sexualness(zorz).
