I think its really lame that people play just one map for signifiacantly more than others...... doesnt it get boring?!

I always play a mixture of maps, I still have my favourites... wake and oman but i dont just play those.

I find it interesting to play some of the other less played maps e.g. dragon valley, oilfields..

Karkand is actually my least favourite map because of the reason people play it..... its just a kill fest...
I see little or no teamwork at all.... people just play it for the kills and 'teamwork' (how reviving someone in the line of fire of a prone PKM just to get shot again is teamwork i dont know....

People play karkand for kills and points... just for the stats basicly.

I PLAY FOR FUN! sure, i like getting medals, badges and ribbons but i play to enjoy myself...the idea of a game.

anyone agree with me...?

any other views?

If people enjoy something like karkand let them enjoy it,karkand mashtuur and wake are my main levels but i still play others.

Ive never really liked Kirkland although I play it alot because 97.394% of the low ping servers are kirklind 100% most of the time.....

Karkand is so popular because there is no air power. On maps like Operation Clean Sweep, if you don't have good pilots and the other side does, it's game over! I hope that one of the effects of the 1.2 patch will be fewer "24/7 Karkand" servers.

Teamwork is important on Karkand, and the lack of air power makes teamwork even more important than on most maps. If Karkand does tend to collect more lone wolf players than most, you can't blame that on the map. The team that plays as a team will win 90% of the time.

I play mostly on Karkand/Sharqi/Mashtuur b/c the other maps are choppy more often than not for me. As for 24/7 Karkand, its basic supply and demand. I for one hate joining a server that has Sharqi playing currently, only to have the next map be a map I really hate. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the load times weren't so_long. I like the servers that are 24/7 Karkand because at least I know what I am getting.
I do like the other maps, but Karkand is the most action packed. I don't have hours every day to play like some people, so if I want to the point action, Karkand/Sharqi/Mashtuur are the best bets.

Servers are just giving the people what they want.

One of the reasons Karkand is so popular is that (IMHO) you CAN have fun and get by if you have to be or WANT to be a Lone Wolf. Granted, working together gives you a higher rate of success and more points, but I can still come to a server, be stuck in a hare-brained squad, and still find a way to TRY and contribute without continuously getting whacked by air power OR by having to WALK forever because someone took all the vehicles and didn't bother offering a ride.

Karkand (and Mashtuur and Sharqi) are cool because the emphasis is on ground assets - not air assets. Sure, you can be raped by the attack choppers on Sharqi, but that happens (at least to me) less often than my getting pwn'd by air power on Oman, Clean Sweep, etc. Plus, AA is dangerous for choppers now, so Sharqi is a little harder - unlike Kubra Dam, in which it seems AA stations are few and far between. Mashtuur is much more interesting (although harder to get points on) than it used to be because of the 1.12 patch and how BH Whoring was nerfed. It is even harder to BH Whore on Mashtuur now because that mini-gun on the BH has been totally nerfed.

This is why the most popular maps on SF are Ghost Town and Warlord. Warlord is simply Karkand for SF, and Ghost Town is like a combination Mashtuur and Sharqi (there are attack choppers and transports, plus there is water and some armor - all this in an "urban" setting).

personally i think sharqi is the best map. karkand is only good when there are less than 20 people playing on it. when there are so many people that you spawn and get killed within seconds it just sucks.

it always depends who is playing on the servers. if you join a karkand onlyserver, then the chances are that a lot of the people on them are just there to rack up some points.

but if you are on a server which rotates maps such as the city map servers, then a lot of the time you will get a lot of team work going on. not just the players trying to get teamwork points, but squads actually working together to capture and defend flags for the sake of winning the round.

A lot of the time if i end up on a karkand server, and the USMC team is not really making an effort to capture flags, i will try and grab one or two other guys who want to help me capture the flags and break the MEC team up a bit. usually once one flag has been captured, then the game will open up a bit more, and you will notice that there are some players within the team who actually want to win the game.

This doesnt happen much on other maps (players just having a killing fest) because most other maps have more options of different flags to be captured, so players spread themselves out more.

i used to play karkand alot, but not so much anymore; its just not as fun as it used to be. imho, its just boring and repetitive. i mean, ill play it, but if someone starts a votemap for it ill vote no :-p

I'm not a big fan of Karkand. I'm trying to work a lot on my K/D ration now and it always gets raped when I end up spawning in front of a tank/APC/PKM/in a sniper's sights/you get the point. Always seems to happen more ofter on that map than any other. Plus, I don't like how the map is balanced towards one or two classes (ie medic and support). I spawn Anti tank to get rid of a tank and then feel useless when I get pwn3d in the face by a PKM, G36E, or the like. Or I'll spwn Assault and miss out on loads of points from the revives and resupplies plus I'm also useless against armor.

I am a big fan of Wake and Sharqi, however. At this pont I think Wake may be my fave, I love everything but the first 2 or 3 minutes (when the US is has no Wake bases). It's also not balanced towards one specific class like Karkand is. I've done pretty well with basically every class there.

USMC VS MEC Grenade lobbing contest WHOEVER GETS MOST KILLS WINS!!

Claymore whoring at enterance points

APC and Amour whoring at spawn points (USMC onyly) ( I did that for the first time the other day and got 40 kills driving back and forth between spawn points)

Everyone forgets about the otehr flags, just fights for the Hotel.

When somone does go to other flags... UMSC own because they are all spawning at the factory ect whilst MECs are still spawning at Hotel waiting to kill USMC with Grenades/Claymore/C4 ect

I played Karkand the other day and must have got 90+ points in each round and I'm not even that good of a player.

After 1.2 patch its a PKM/APC/AMOUR/MEDICS whore's dream

So because I play Karkand more than othe other maps, I play for just stats and not fun? Please know what your talking about before you say something like that. I like Karkand because its non-stop action. If you ever played a full 64 player Karkand server you would know that winning on MEC takes a VERY BIG amount of teamwork.
