I see this and I have to ask myself - if the violence is down in Iraq and things are getting better according to republicans and the Iraqi army is capable of pushing out almost all of Al Qaeda (see Kmarion's thread) - why aren't we focused there (in Afghanistan)? That's where Bin Laden is. That's where Al-Zawahiri is (well, along the border of Pakistan and the US, atleast). Yet we're still in Iraq and haven't even bother making a troop shift to Afghanistan where the Taliban are making a strong resurgence? I just don't get that.
I saw something on Yahoo! the other day about Bush having a surge in Afghanistan, but aren't our forces just a bit pushed to the brink right now?
