The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

No, BIOS incapable of letting him up the multiplier. And if he wanted to overclock on the software level, it would be sort of hard to point out the specific code thing (don't know what it's called) because software OC programs don't usually have such presets for OEM specific motherboards..Sup wrote:

That's why I can't overclock this or my previous computer. Although overclocking a Prescott is already suicidal and then you add in the GX280's retardedly ineffective cooling system.
Lulz ur funny. Since the year 2000. And you know he uses Dell OEM PC for a fact? /facepalm.jpgFreezer7Pro wrote:

Way mine is lately it's not suprising mate. I'd bet my left bollock most typewriters are faster than this pc atm._j5689_ wrote:

It is very interesting that I got to see how much better I did than a P4 530. I can't even outperform a lowly Core Duo, lol.
If I can still find this thread, I'll be sure to try it out on the P4 661 when I get it within the next year.
What's a bollock? I'm guessing it's either a buttcheeck or a testicle, or possibly a lung.Mitch92uK wrote:

Why is it slow now?

Anyway I think it's slow because the PSU is overloaded, the case has not a single fan, it's summer to ambient temps are hotter and probably a few other reasons too

Give me a couple of weeks and I'll have a 766MHz Celeron. I have a Pentium 1 or something with Windows 95 sitting out in the garage and I'm extremely tempted to hook it up just to post SuperPi results from it in here.
I'm sure Freezer can outdo any slow computers anyone has though.

I have a 50MHz P1 system, but no mobo for it.

Cyrix 6x86MX PR200
It looks like on the processor it says it's got a 2.5x multiplier of 66MHz at 2.9V which would be 165MHz.
I can't even hook it up, it has no USB ports and it's got one of those ancient 12mm circular mouse ports, I don't mean PS/2 either, this thing is 3x the circumference of a PS/2 port.
No ethernet ports either and it's got ISA buses as well.
