X-Fi Xtreme Music microphone problem

I don't know if anyone has had this issue before but my microphone keeps muting itself after I launch COD4 and at random times. Strangely enough, it doesn't do this when I launch BF2. This is really annoying, having to alt+tab out of COD4 and unmute it. I have installed the latest drivers for the sound card and the problem still persists.

Intel CSD E6600 @ 2.4ghz
2gb ram
7900gs
ASUS P5L-VM 1394 mobo

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem with mic boost. After I load a server in BF2 no one can hear me so I have to alt tab and turn it back on.

I don't even have a sound card so I have no idea. I'd like to know the answer too.

This isn't really a fix, but you can set a hotkey to toggle the microphone mute (assuming this is Teamspeak we're talking about). I have it set as the asterisk above the number pad since I never use that key.

Thats cos you don't have mic boost enabled in the game.

My clan uses Ventrilo, maybe I can figure something out with vent.

Edit: Fucking Creative they don't even offer email tech support after a year, what bullshit.

I have the same soundcard and same problem, it drives me crazy.

Same problem with me. I have to restart Bf2 to get it to stop hissing. Pain in the ass.

I have xfire, teamspeak, and bf2cc running too and it doesn't seem to help starting them in a certain order either.

I'll get that red icon on the voip icon in bf2 when i try and use it i don't hear the hiss/static ingame but when i go into audio test on the bfhq screen it sounds like static until i restart bf2.
