rotfl, then good for you, you aim at head and then this ugly thought 'oh noez im aiming one pixel below the best spot, time to change dpi '
as medic u have more health (if u use it wisely)
So, er, who's right here? We have some people saying there is no difference between the assault and medic versions, and others saying the opposite. I don't know what to believe!

Some code to back up our theory:
AK-101 used by medic.
Code:
ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.deviationFactor 5 ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.maxVisualDeviation 28 ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.minVisualDeviation 7 rem ---BeginComp:SoldierDeviationComp --- ObjectTemplate.createComponent SoldierDeviationComp ObjectTemplate.deviation.setFireDev 2 0.2 0.05 ObjectTemplate.deviation.minDev 0.45 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setTurnDev 0 0 0 0 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setSpeedDev 1 0.25 0.25 0.1 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setMiscDev 3 1.5 0.05 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModStand 1.3 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModCrouch 1.2 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModZoom 0.8
Code:
ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.deviationFactor 5 [b]ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.maxVisualDeviation 27 ObjectTemplate.weaponHud.minVisualDeviation 4 rem ---BeginComp:SoldierDeviationComp --- ObjectTemplate.createComponent SoldierDeviationComp ObjectTemplate.deviation.setFireDev 2 0.2 0.05 ObjectTemplate.deviation.minDev 0.45 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setTurnDev 0 0 0 0 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setSpeedDev 1.2 0.25 0.25 0.1 ObjectTemplate.deviation.setMiscDev 3.2 1.5 0.05 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModStand 1.3 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModCrouch 1.2 ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModZoom 0.8
Also, deviation values are different.

Alright, good to know. No accuracy difference, just the crosshairs.

Cyrax, those are for the M16A2, though in the end it's a moot point.
Note that if anything, the assault's is slightly less accurate (first value in line MiscDev). And sorry, but BF2's engine works on numbers, not your feelings. Someone at DICE didn't copy the values precisely. Placebo effect, hitboxes, lag, whatever it is, it's not the gun's accuracy.
Oh, and I can't be arsed posting the code, but it's the same deal with the AK-101. "Max/MinVisualDeviation" are higher for the medic's (RURIF_AK101), meaning big crosshair, but the accuracy is essentially the same. In fact, the assault's (RURIF_GP30) again is slightly less accurate. (first values in lines SpeedDev and MiscDev).
Argue about accuracy all you want: the assault kits' weapons have slightly lower recoil. And if you can't tell the difference between accuracy and recoil, where does the qualification to argue over 5 pixels of crosshair come from?

I refer thee to this thread:

Ok, its ironsights, but the sweetspot is different for M16/AK47 between the medic and assault...but not for AK101. How this then relates to the crosshair, is anyones guess...but the crosshair and the ironsights do match up, which is how Marine originally put all of that together to work out the ironsight sweetspots (although those images showing that are now gone )

the visual devs are probably factors of the total dev considering everybody knows the assault kit is more accurate. they also used slightly different images for the iron sights with slightly different points of aim. I think its kind of obvious that DICE made them a little different on purpose.
although k30 may be right, recoil may be the whole reason why the assault guns work better.
bottom line, assault works better and the point of aim is lower, thats all u need to know.
