The 9600GT, but 200$ will get you a 4850...
Exactly. Cant you find any cheaper 4850s? Tbh, I have no understanding of people who want to stick to a particular brand, if something is cheaper and better, if you want to go else where you deserve to be ripped off.

What about if you bought into SLI? I have an SLI mobo, and it would make more sense to buy two Nvidia cards rather than ATI cards, because I can't run Crossfire on a 680i. I'd jump ship to ATI because their shit is better anyways, but it doesn't really make sense at this point in the game. I don't want to get ripped off, whatever brand I buy.
Perhaps, although there would be nothing stopping you running a single ATi card. Two 9600s I believe was not the original question, it was which of the following would be best for me. In that case it remains the 4850. Perhaps you can wait till next week? 9800GTX+ comes out and is expected at around the $229 mark. You could eventually SLI them.

9600GT scales really well in SLi
Probably because it auto overclocks when it goes in SLI.
