I was expecting more about freedom on the internet. I doubt that anyone will ignore IPv6 - but as it is with global warming, unless the threat is imminent, no one gives a shit. And no, three years does not count as imminent.

People will invest in the new IP address system, they have to, to stay alive and expand, I don't see why everyone is worrying about it
The RFC defining IPv6 was delivered around 1996/1997 so it isn't new.  The problem has been adoption.  When everyone realized that they could NAT outbound (non-service providing) hosts...everyone went..."meh, I'll wait...this will hold me over for now".   It's starting to pick up a bit in my area but I think that we will see a rush of conversions right at the end, just like Y2K.
