all i have learned is how much i actually want to join the Army/RAF. Seriously, its boring, tiring, and i don't look forward to getting up at 7, so i can get there with my dad who starts earlier than most other people. So i get to sit in silence with him for an hour at the start and end before an hours drive home.

So... i guess office work is not for me...

If you join the military, it may not be boring, but it will be 20x more tiring and you'll be getting up at 4:00 AM rather than 7:00.

Basically, what chitty said. Military service is very honorable and I might do it as well, but:

-Wake up at 4AM (and that's not talking about Boot Camp)
-PT PT PT
-Drill drill drill
-I really don't know if you have lots of free time in the military
-You can go to war

Besides, wtf is work experience? You brits keep talking about it but it makes no sense.

I hated my work experience. Went to work as a horticulturist (a gardener for you non-posh people). Fucking hated every second. God knows how they got a gardener from what I asked for. Whatever.

it depends on your job in the military ......... theres some jobs that you'll do a " 9-5 " but more like 7am - 4pm with 2 hours for noon chow

then theres infantry .... we would go out in the field for a week, have the weekend to ourselves then come back on Mon work till Wed then take a 96 (thurs-sun)

Its 5.15AM btw, not 4.

Limited PT sessions a week, 3 if you're lucky, not daily thing.

Drill you're right is boring, but I must say - when with a group and knowing you look the bollocks - you feel awesome.

You have great friends, sadly you do have to leave a few behind, but you get regular breaks and home shouldn't be too far away from home after basic.

War is inevitable, but not everyone gets sent to the location. And most want to be sent anyway

Edit: This is for the Army above - not the RAF or Navy. I have no clue about their info, so It may be different and most probably is.

In the second to last year of school usually, you apply for work experience with the help of your school. Just involves you making tea and photocopying for two weeks. It's just to get you used to interacting with people in a professional environment.

Mine was sweet I went go-karting, rock climbing and snowboarding whilst staring down a very attractive woman's top as she was trying to teach me.

Hurri, work experience is where you get a placement at a work, unpaid, and you follow the work day as would be normal there for a week or so. Just to get some "work experience". Helps you on your CV.

Pshh, i went to the RAF, got to strip harriers, taxi them off, watch them drag race down the strip (read ), drink tea and play pool all day.
