So... I finally got Xbox Live Gold in May. Got the monthly subscription. Its charged to my parents card... so I don't know if it's being charged or not.... So today I check my emails, and I have an email from Microsoft telling me that my live has not been being charged since May. But unfortunately, also in the email included that they have fixed this error, and all months I've had live will now be charged.

When you sign up for live you enter a contract, that contract will state you agree to pay in full for live, therefore if they fail to charge your card they can still charge you anything you havent paid yet at a later date.

Fuck, I need to cancel mine ASAP.

I used my dad's card for a couple of months, then he got a new one, and I just kept having Live, not sure whether it got moved to my dad's card and he's been paying for me... I don't wanna ask

I guess they're gonna do this to me, soon. But I'll have the money to pay it all off. It's only £5 a month, and it's been maybe... 3 months? That's nothing

Money is my issue - when I pay for it, I pay my parents back. I don't have the $60 to pay. I will in a couple weeks, but for now... I dont.

I never god how XBL works, like after I buy it can I Play it as much as I want for the 12 months then its gone or is it like I can play for one hour then never again for the year and my subscription is still there?

Yep. You pay $50 (or I think they've got cheaper plans for shorter subscriptions) and you can play online and get some other Gold features for a year. Doesn't matter how often you play it, it's linked to your GamerTag until the year is up.

My friend got a PS3 instead of a xbox mainly because of the fee, even though the xbox was cheaper.

PS3 is fucken' awesome though.

Yeah, I never understood why they make you pay for online service. You're already paying your regular ISP, why pay Microsoft even more just to play on your 360? It doesn't make much sense since Wii and PS3 let you play for free. I don't know though, I have a Wii but I'll always be a PC gamer, can play any online games for the normal ISP fee along with do pretty much everything else as well.
