Taking out a heli solo'd by Toilet Sex is just asking for a TV missile in return.
Id say the jet, because it can attack vertically down onto the heli and keep doing it: using afterburner to get away from the missile.

A good jet pilot vs a good helo pilot. I would say the jet has about a 90% probability of success.

From behind the best chopper person would not be able to hit the best jet pilot if it was a 1 on 1 scenario. If he wasn't expecting it (say in a pub or something), then yes he could get a TV shot or two in from the rear. But head on I'd give it to the chopper person 75-80% of the time. More if it was the best chopper duo in it.

Now, if you have to soiler's in separate choppers against say a mig, you would have a better chance.
the jet is the "easiest" so to say powerful weapon...but a REALLY awsome chopper pilot who can take down planes without problems is no boubt the mpst powerful weapon ever...

interesting... this poll is pretty divided. i think cable is right, if you know the jet is coming, and you can get a missle at him head on, i think the heli has the overall advantage. now snake and adam have a point by saying the angle of attack could be unusual or guns can shred the heli... but if you put the heli at 300 feet in the air, you can basically point it in any direction without worrying about crashing, and the missle as a 450 range, which doesnt give the pilot alot of time with the cannon.

True, but the jet gets the advantage of surprise: it can attack from any direction, from any height. If it was me against a super-leet chopper solo / crew, Id be going to 800 and diving to them from above, using afterburner to get away from the missile: repeat.steelie34 wrote:

Also, missile spam up close from a jet can hit helis very well: I often do that.
Also...what about the map itself, i.e. really foggy and easy to lose sight (i.e. Daqing) or a fog-less sky (i.e. Oman)?
Trying to remember that its an "elite" jet pilot vs and "elite" heli gunner is hard to do, when you consider that the jet pilot should kill in 1-2 passes with the guns, but the heli pilot might be awesome at evasion and incredibly good with the TV.

I would say jet, but also depends on map as stated above. Dragon with its white sky is pretty much pain in the ass for TVing... well, at least for me.
I'd say the jet. In real life (and quite a bit in BF2), if you control the skies, you control the battlefield. I've seen this many times: two good jet pilots are enough to bring down an enemy's ground-based defence. Bombers are the best at this with their retarding 1000lb'ers and laser-guided missiles.
Unless of course you are flying at less than 250 low to the ground. I can pop off an Eryx or an SRAW at a jet flying low at that speed with a 75% chance of success. If you're really skilled, you can bring down a jet with one of the transport vehicles which have a 50 cal in an 8 to 10 second burst. However, I've rarely seen this happen. I've taken some light damage from these pot shots in the past, but not enough to bring me down. The M95 also does surprisingly high damage to a jet. You can take down a bomber sitting on the ground in about 10 shots and a fighter in about 8. If you have a full squad of guys armed with '95's, I don't see any reason why you couldn't bring down a jet. Each guy would get about 2 shots at the jet and that would be enough to put it out of action. You could even bring down a jet with certain small arms fire like your LMG's (M249 SAW, PKM, RPK-74, Type 88). And the big daddies of all Anti-Air fire are pretty effective ie.
