The PS3 and 360 do not count as offline consoles. Keep that shit outta here!!

To offline consoles, basically every console that isn't designed for online usage; The PS2, the GameCube with it's big, black 56k addon, etc. Basically all but the last-gen consoles.

With that said, I'll go for the N64, followed by the GameCube (Far behind) and PS1 (Half as far behind of the GC as the GC is to N64).

The N64 has an awesome controller (For it's wat'edness), wonderful graphics, an excellent supply of games, and uses the totally awesome top-mounted cartridges.

The GC also has an awesome controller, better graphics, but a lack of games, and I dislike the 8cm DVDs used in it.
The PS1 is just nice, a thing between the N64 and the older consoles, an incredibly large collection of games, and a controller that has lived on ever since. The black disks are also cool. Plus it could play CDs

Go!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

PS2, can play all the PS1 games ever made and all the PS2 games ever made = largest game catalogue for any console.

Good controllers, powerful console for the time, shit loads of games, basically kick ass.

N64 comes very close 2nd though, it just had so many entertaining games and had an alright controller, not my favourite though.

They're all pretty good. I can't pick a favorite, my top 3 in no particular order are NES, PS2, SNES. Granted I had a Sega Genesis instead of a SNES but I have plenty of experience with the SNES via emulators.

My PS2. I had good times with the Ratchet and Clank Series and GTA: San Andreas

EDIT: Forgot to add Gran Turismo 3, Starwars Battlefront and Midnight Club 3.

GameCube. My parents had a jihad against video game consoles for the longest time so the first one I had was the GameCube (first ever games thing was a GameBoy).

PS2 was very good, as was the N64.

Close tie between the N64 and PS2, although the PS2 was online.

But it wasn't anywhere as good as the 360 or PS3's online (as in, a console built with online very high up on the priority list).

Yes, but that was not a very popular feature. The GC was also online, fyi You can't compare PS2 online capabilities with the PS3 ones.

You know, I kept hearing about this "genesis" console from sega which I didn't recognize, googled it, and turns out it's what the Sega Mega is called in the US

Yes.  I still play my PS2.  The God of War series is my favorite, but I also play Gran Turismo 4 and Resident Evil 4.  Plus, PS controllers are simply the best...

Still not even closely "as online" as the PS3 and last-gen consoles.

N64

it also wins for best console ever.

Online consoles are worse in a lot of ways. It's hard to find good games with local multiplayer for them...

If I want online play why would I use a console? they're laggy and shit.
