My internet is not letting me connect to certain things

I can not connec to msn messenger cod 4 server or diablo 2 battle net

however using internet is fine

Are you connected through a router? If so try resetting it.

I had this problem when i first setup my PC, i fucked around with firewall setting, even un-installed AV programs but nothing, i messed around in IE settings, disabled every windows firewall there was and still nothing, in the end i just re-formatted.

Vista/XP?
Has it just started happening or is the PC new?

have you tried unplugging your modem and router wait 10sec and plugged in your modem then router?
