i was just wondering what connection speed everyone has and what kinda ping comes with that on like a 32 and 64 man server...with me i havnt been able to play bf2 for a while on my home computer coz of my gfx card been sent out for replacement...and i havnt been able to test out my pings with my new connection since...only 256k :-| and deciding whether the cost of an upped speed will be heaps better for bf2...so what sorta connection speeds and pings do you guys get...please reply in following format

i only play on 64 and my ping can go from 10 - 40 i have a ADSL+2 connection

512k adsl.ping varies on where the server is(wa servers have a higher ping for me than nz ones)usually about 30\60 although a full 64 man sf server lags like hell.one of our problems in aus is that not enough high pingers get kicked.

My ping usually stays around 10-15 on any map.
I have Comcast digital Cable. Super fast. Downloads at about 800-1.5MB

DSL 7mg down 1.5 mg up 60-70 ping.

More bandwidth will allways help you in fps.

I only play on a 64 player server and I usually get a ping of 15-20 using 10 meg broadband

I have a swedish broadband provider called BBB. I have 100 Mbit down and 10 Mbit up. The ping is never higher than 30.

avg is 55-59 normally. i dont play on to many servers though

othertimes its 25! seen it as low as 12 once. on a neveda server. my state. less hops=better ping

i have a 4 meg connection right now

1 meg up

cox finally got its shit together the past few years! it was like 2meg in 03 haha

waiting it out till june when they move standard subscrition up to 5 meg...and 6 meg will be an extra 10 bucks i cant cough up!

5 is plenty

Crap. I hate you guys. If I'm lucky I'll get a ping of 100 ms. Usually, it's about 150-300 ms and can spike as high as 1000 ms. My problem is that I only play BF2 at work and my office shares a split T-1 line with the entire building. I plan on upgrading my home computer soon though so I can play BF2 here. I'm sure I could get at least twice as fast on a cable connection. I can't wait to see my stats improve. Right now the majority of my deaths can be attributed to lag.

2mb ~60. Sadly 2mb/128k is the fastest residential speed available in New Zealand. It's being bumped up to 3.5mb/512k in a while (hoo-fucking-ray) and with low monthly limits and high pricing.

2mbit DSL with Fast Path enabled. Fast Path will help a great deal with pings ( some call it interleaving, I believe ).

Pings to german servers: 10-20 ms
Pings to other EU servers: 25-70 ms
I have played on US servers with pings of around 100-150 ms
Asian servers are unplayable with pings around 300-400 ms, and I immediately get kicked there anyway

If fast path is turned off, my pings will usually double.

I am planning to switch ISP, getting a 6mbit line in april. yay, go me....

what is with these connections, you have massive bandwidths yet fairly high pings(to me that is) i have a 1mb connection and get an average ping of 18-35, even on 64 player maps

12mb adsl here, only around 35usd a month, i get 20 ping in taiwan servers and around 180-230 ping on us servers
