true, but tell him to get a motherboard/cpu/ram bundle, they are about £120 and are available at maplins. you get a Mobo,1GB ram, and a 2.2 AMD dual core AM2. Not much money but a massive improvementtobz102 wrote:

Not every one has 250 pounds to throw around for an Intel conversion. Tell him to keep the 8600gt and get a 5200+ am2 processor, am2 gigabyte motherboard and 2gigs of G.SKill 1066 ddr2 ram. It comes out to be close to or just over 120 pounds. On overclockers.co.uk.Sup wrote:

Yes. But, in this case, his CPU is actually a huge bottleneck for his GPU. I've dealt with a 3200+ single-core 939, and it's not exactly fast, it's just enough to use the X850XT in that rig to the max. If he gets the CPU, he should notice quite a performance increase, as the potential of the 8600GT is realeased.DeathUnlimited wrote:
