Simply put i'm going to be in NZ and AU in about a week and I was wondering if the $175 cost for doing the skyjump at the Auckland tower is worth it. . . I've been looking forward to doing this for a while now but just now checked the cost and it is fairly steep. . .Has anyone done it or heard about it and can suggest anything here?

11 seconds.......what a ripoff.

Don't you have a local sky diving place you could go to? It cost me $125 a few years back to do a tandem sky dive and it was a 50 second free fall. Even after the free fall you also get the swooping-in landing. Well worth the money.

The Skyjump is actually pretty decent and the experience of falling in a city environment is something a skydive doesn't give you. Really though you do get more value from a skydive, and there are some great places to do that in both Australia and New Zealand. If you want a New Zealand-y experience go Bungy Jumping, I'd reccomend you do it in either Taupo or Queenstown but if you're not going further south than Auckland you can settle for the Skyjump.

And Volatile, it's the experience you pay for not the time it takes - same goes for prostitutes.

In a way a skyjump would be scarier than a skydive because everything is so close and moving a lot quicker. I'd say do both
