Is there public transport available from Boston city centre to Foxborough for match games?
taxi will take you anywhere?
I think Foxborough is too far for taxis.
get out of here with that proper UK English. It's called a battle on the gridiron, get it right.
there has to be some kind of shuttle or something
and 30 miles isn't too far for a taxi

had to be said, even though I'm a Jets fan
There's plenty of transportation to Gilette stadium. Taxis, shuttles, and a lot of other stuff. You'll be fine.

America is like, 3rd world when it comes to public transportation. Just hire your own car.

It really depends. San Fran's is amazing. NY isn't too shabby either.Mek-Stizzle wrote:

DC's buses are terrible. The drivers can be nice usually, but it's just a horrible horrible system.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I can drive to and from school to either of my parent's houses in 15 minutes. Going by bus to my mom's house, it's taken up to 2 hours because the buses do not run continously, they seem to pile up at one terminal, go in one big unit, pile up at the other terminal, repeat. Going to my dad's, the longest it's taken is about an hour.
I'll listen to the environmentalists and start using public transport when I can have a RELIABLE bus that shows up OFTEN. Chicago seems to have it down pretty well. Oh, and I wish Metro would upgrade more of their buses.
And all that said, the Metrorail is actually very nice.
Come to OC - horrible. Although, if that supposed train to Vegas ever gets built I will retract my statement.HurricaИe wrote:

Here they're building a new line, that goes all the way to Dulles and then a bit further into Virginia (I imagine that much like the Vienna-Fairfax station, it dumps you into the middle of the highway). And they want to make another line that connects all the suburban stations. Which would be nice but alas, not addressing the issue of the shitty buses.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

edit: I think it's also partly due to where I live. There are lots of suburban areas that get fairly good bus coverage. The closest bus to my mom's house comes in 30 minute intervals (if it's running right).

Cam you'll enjoy the tailgating.
Woo England!
You can take the MBTA commuter rail to games. The MBTA is the train/bus/subway system in the area. Tickets are under $15 round trip. Let me see what info I can find quickly.
Okay, this should do it.

I'd definitely take the mbta over a taxi. There's a ton of other stuff at the stadium/stadium grounds. I don't know when you'll be in the area but a lot of it is under construction and will be done soon. You can check what is open at the website: http://www.patriot-place.com/ It's crazy how much shit they are putting in there. It's cost is about 380 million dollars, and they are using stadium parking for the land to build. So the owner used other land for brand new parking. It is chaotic there with all the stuff going on.Public Transportation (MBTA) for Patriots Games ONLY!
The MBTA runs service to and from all New England Patriots home games.
Tickets are $12 for the round trip and may be purchased for cash only. No other Commuter Rail tickets or passes may be used.
Coolers and backpacks will not be allowed on the trains. No personal possessions may be left on the trains. Trains will depart Foxboro 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
For more information about attending Patriots games via MBTA, log onto their site at www.mbta.com , or call 617-222-3200, or the ticket office info line at (800) 543-1776.

New York has really good public transportation, can't say its the best as I haven't done much travelling, but I have no need to get a license and a car would just be a hassle here.
