This laptop will basically just be used for surfing the web, word processing and maybe some Visual studio work. Anyone got any comments on the processor? Graphics?

If it's more than £220, it's not worth it. The CPU is pretty crappy, I don't even think it's a dual, the graphics circuit might run CS 1.6, if you really want to, and it comes with Vista, which it is way too slow for running properly.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

thought maybe it was a good deal, but guess without a core cpu running vista would be pretty slow.

Will look elsewhere.

Look at the lenovo 3000 series. I just bought one for a friend for roughly £300 with a core2, 2GB ram, 160GB hd, 15'' screen, ...

Hp also have some in the price range
