Don't really see what it has to do with Islam tbh. It's just a bunch of people trying to steal fertile land off native tribes in one of the most inhospitable places on earth - not driven by religion in the least. Let me guess: you're going to say it is!lowing wrote:

Free Republic? What has it got to do with Islam other than a right-wing editorial? How is Islam driving this? Why do you boil EVERY LAST SINGLE THING ON EARTH down to Islam? This is a territorial war - NOT A WAR OF RELIGION. Fucking hell you need some education. Can't you separate driver from protagonist for once in your fucking life?lowing wrote:

Come now, who mentioned Islam. How has Islam got anything to do with the troubles in Zimbabwe, Congo, Kenya, Liberia or Rwanda. Please explain. I'm all ears. In fact I'm very interested to see you explain this one. The only sub-Saharan African nations where Islam predominates are Nigeria and Somalia. And only one of those two nations suffer from hardline radicalism, the other is just a corrupt piece of shit impoverished jokebag of a country.lowing wrote:

that is a pretty big region there Cam, are you gunna use the desert to excuse it all?
also , ididn't turn this thread into a Muslim thread. People use analogies and I respond to them. You all are equally as guilty
Zimbabwe.
Congo.
Kenya.
Liberia.
Rwanda.
Muslims are stirring up trouble on all points of the compass. The argument is what to do about it. To claims islam is not part of the problem in any one of the countries you listed shows an apparent lazyness when it comes to facts.
Imagine what the world would be like now if the Crusades hadn't happened.

we need to hire as many black bag motherfuckers as we can.

walk into where they lay their fucking head at night. put three in their head, and follow it up with anyone who is unlucky enough to kick it with shitbags.
leave a bill for the ammo.

Are you seriously honestly actually trying to pin the troubles of sub-Saharan Africa on Islam? You've fucking lost it, buddy. Who's responsible for the ZImbabwe mess: Zanu PF - Robert Mugabe - not a muslim. Who was responsible for Rwanda - the Interahamwe - not muslims. Who is responsible for the Kenya mess - power hungry dictatorial policitians - not Muslim ones incidentally. Who is responsible for the Congo mess? Dictators and marxists - not Muslims.ATG wrote:

If you are gonna swallow the bullshit your conspiracy theory op-eds sell you in your 'Weekly Standard' and such then I have to say my respect for you will have dropped. I can't believe you're being so ignorant and purile. Are you really for real with this bullshit? ZImbabwe crisis caused or influenced by Muslims? Pffffft. Ridiculous ATG. Laughable and very lax. THe fact that I can't even open some of the links as websense here at work blocks them under the heading 'Advocacy Groups' is telling to say the least.
I could type 'Guantanamo Torture Killing' or 'US Israeli conspiracy' into Google and probably come up with loads of bullshit webpages - that's the problem with the internet, it's 95% mindless drivel. I thought you may have been better than that.

Very true, but looking at the state of Zimbabwe, maybe Europe should reconquer the less stable countries in Africa. Their self-rule is rather pathetic in many cases.
Granted, I wouldn't want America to burden itself with colonization.
I'd say Islamic extremism constitutes a tiny percentage of the overall blame regarding the problems facing Africa. It's probably on a par with voodoo.ATG wrote:

Practically zero issues in the countries I mentioned. About as much of an issue as Muslim extremism is in the US, i.e., not much. They have worse things to deal with like 40% AIDS rate, sky-high infant mortality and extreme poverty and corruption.ATG wrote:

liberia is not doing so bad right now. They have a woman president.
They were looking a bit ropey there for a while, a friend of mine was serving there for a while as a peace keeping troop.God Save the Queen wrote:

Maybe Africa wouldn't be as poor or dysfunctional if African farmers could compete and make a living. You Europeans really help by subsidizing your crops so heavily (actually the US is partly guilty as well).
Protectionism ftw!!!Phrozenbot wrote:

Part of many of the aid and loan deals to African (and many other) nations is that they have to remove protectionist measures, meaning their local farmers have to compete directly with the subsadized foreign imports. No guesses as to who wins that.CameronPoe wrote:

That's what I hate about so called 'free market capitalists' - 'we're allowed to be protectionist but if you want us to invest in your country you have to let us bleed you dry'. Principles ftl.PureFodder wrote:

There are quite a few temporary contractor residences, but I get it.God Save the Queen wrote:

Iraq isn't a colony, but we have essentially colonized them in an economic sense.
Neither side should subsidize. Let comparative advantage take precedence. This should go for all markets in all countries.CameronPoe wrote:

The continent is very beautiful

and the ppl are very friendly

somehow there's allways a tosser at the top though.
The EU could lift its trade barrier for a start so that the africans could export their goods.
If I was an african and my child starved to death because of the EU politics or an irish journalist I would be pissed.
Think being on the other side of the immigrant fence/trade barrier/terror list.
Personally I think the africans have a fun temper, high "spirit" and welcomming attitude.
I highly recommend seeing it.
