I have mentiond in a few posts that windows sp3 update kills my pc.

Not sure how many others this affects but thought you would like to know there is a fix @    hp.com search for SP37394



Its so nice to actually be able to use my pc again.... yay!

the problem is only for HPs with AMD cpus. HP screwed up in the way they install the OS
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

yep, i have a HP computer with an amd chip and have the same problem. HP have released a little application. here is a link


download this, double click, let it install then install service pack 3 and see if it works

i haven't tried it yet as im upgrading and don't want to mess this pc up just yet

I thought it was sorted with the HP fix but then it all died and would only let me do a system restore, with no restore points.

I have started again but used the microsoft fix but now carnt install SF.   

Any Ideas??
