Alot of clans/teams use it as a seperation between the name and the player, like preD^oxr (being a member of Prediction). icU* use the star, but alot of other teams just use a period eg Powahranger.BLUE.. The only other one is see used regularly is the | symbol, used al la TFR|Pkr*, seperating the clan name and the player name, but is also used as the letter "i" or the letter "l".

Not really. Most of the people who use the symbol, have created a 2nd or 3rd account with their clan name, most of the time being good players. I will, again, use blacklupus as an example. His clan account is (I think) called preD^lupus. He is a good player.

But you can't use symbols to judge how good a player is, you have to see how they play, and judge by how many times they kill you etc etc
