Thought of this after this mornings F-Secure message in our inbox. Since we have a lot of servicedesk/helpdesk heroes around here lurking, I thought it would be fun to read about what the silly users come up with to brighten your day.
As I work at the "all-seeing" servicedesk, we get all the F-Secure messages to our inbox about viruses and severe error messages like this one. I started to delete all the nonsense that another team is taking care of when I see the one error message that gets a wide grin on my face. Some sucker had tried to install "The battle of middle earth" to a cafeteria workstation. And since it's a huge company that orders the service from us it's always fun to write AWM email to embarrased users who get caught installing games. For some odd reason they never reply Sadly I don't get to write these too often. Last time was a few weeks before the Euro-08 when a guy from Argentina tried to install Championship manager -05. We almost emailed him back that what the hell is he doing installing a 3 yo game, since there are newer ones available! Earlier this year some sucker tried also installing a pet expansion for Sims. Should probably call them instead of sending email. Would be fun to listen to their gagging and explanations
Oh yeah, once this bitch went apeshit over illegally downloaded mp3's we deleted from the company server. My god we had fun on her account.
She was so fucking furious although all employees had got an email telling to remove all mp3 files from servers. She went on about that it had taken her a long time to download these and what was she supposed to listen now on a businesstrip. My colleauge replied "Nothing on your workstation that is not in a CD/DVD format and the files were illegal in any case". Well that helped, only to put more gas in the flames She screamed that the whole servicedesk is going to get warnings about this and jada jada jada
Dumb ppl...
So what do you guys have to share?
