What is being done is immoral, convention or not. And that's how everyone in the rest of the world, and presumably some within America, will view it.Kmarion wrote:

How bout I lob a grenade and grow up 8 years in git-mo without trial. Or just be accused of throwing one, as a trial defeats the actually necessity of throwing one in the first place.God Save the Queen wrote:

Whether it is or not, its what's allowed, they don't fight in uniforms so the GC doesn't apply to them. They don't want to follow the rules laid out then they don't fall under the protection of the GC, harsh but that's the way the game is played.CameronPoe wrote:

This is true.. but tbh I'm not passing judgment yet. Just because something is lawful doesn't mean it is right.M.O.A.B wrote:

That particular time? The war's been going on for 7 years. It's not like he could have waited a few months for it to blow over.Mek-Stizzle wrote:
Why was he at the compound, why was he around all those bad guys? Wtf is he doing there, at that time, if he is a Canadian Citizen? What? I'm not gonna presume guilt or innocence in this case but I would draw your attention to the innocent Tipton Three:Mek-Stizzle wrote:

Two years of their lives down the drain.
See, I don't care if you actually did anything bad or not. Just going to train/be with with these guys is bad enough. Funny how all of a sudden as soon as the War against the Taliban started, lots of "innocent" foreigners were caughtRuhal Ahmed admitted on the programme that he had visited an Islamist training camp, where he handled weapons and learned how to use an AK47. Rasul refused to go through with the test.

These people were caught at the beginning. At least, this kid was. It's fucking obvious he went for Jihad or someshit. You don't risk everything, going to a war zone, just to meet family or something. No family would tell their overseas relatives "yes come down, everything is fine, you'll be fine bring along your children too, to this warzone" etc..ZombieVampire! wrote:

Torture will do that to you. As will sleep deprivation (I made sleep dep stand alone cause some here have argued it isn't torture).CameronPoe wrote:

Good. Maybe they will stop trying to fucking murder our innocent civilians then. I have absolutely no problem with people being afraid to terrorize us.CameronPoe wrote:
The Russians held soldiers of theirs and the Nazis didn't afford the Russians the same rights as they did the Americans (in fact their treatment of the Russians was brutal), ergo your logic fails. Are you seriously commending the incarceration without trial and with beating/sleep deprivation of a 15 year old child? Perhaps this is the reason people around the world view the US in a dimmer light than they once did.ATG wrote:

How they treat the polish prisoners? Or the gypsies?
