Ok, so awhile ago our internet provider were fixing some problems, and we had to have a technician guy come in and reset our router and stuff, now, this wouldn't be a big deal, except he reset all the ports that i had opened (for BF2) and so now i can't go online

this wouldn't be so terrible if it weren't for the fact that i can't gain access into the router to re-open the ports, the normal "admin, admin" username and password doesn't work

so my question is....:

how would i find out what the username and password of my router is?

As mentioned above, try: user: admin, password: password.

If that doesn't work, then go to http://portforward.com/guides.htm . Find your router there, they tell you the default user and pass for each one i think.

if it is a linksys or dlink router then try:

user: admin
pass:

Leave the password blank.

If it doesn't work press the reset button on the back (read manual if it needs power cycle or not) and then try again.  By default most consumer routers do not have a password on them until it is assigned by the user.

Sometimes the default password is on the underside of the router.

this is the manual for your router... on the bottom of page 14 it explains how to log on to the admin web interface.  since the router was reset, it should take you to the "administrative user setup" which will prompt your for a new password.  if this isn't or hasn't happened, you should reset your router again.  btw, don't let anyone touch your shit, there is nothing your ISP needs to do to your router that they can't explain to you so you can do it yourself.

If all fails I think doing a hard reset (IE, press the reset button in the back) will revert the password to default.

I think a hard reset as well.

Bear in mind that you'll have to set up your router all over again though, telling it your connection type and everything.

I'd do a full reset too

Important point to remember
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
