Why was he at the compound, why was he around all those bad guys? Wtf is he doing there, at that time, if he is a Canadian Citizen? What? He decided to visit Afghanistan to meet family at that particular time in Afghanistan's history. gg. Should've stayed in Canada instead of going to Afghanistan to hang around with the Taliban during the time the U.S were in the country at war with them... the guy is a moron.
A Moron yes. At 15 most people don't have much common sense.
There is a international effort to free and rehabilitate child solders involved in African conflicts. This kid gets tortured. Guess it doesn't extend to Muslims.

I think it goes without saying that we've had over a good couple of centuries to get used to disdain.
When I was a kid America was the golden child, a nation to be revered. That was the consensus anyway.
Only cos the US was supplying the IRA and shit. Or so I've heard
I'm not quite sure what the USA's stance was during "The Troubles" but I think they were more with the Irish than the British. Also, they didn't even help the UK in the Falklands either. Just why the fuck did we help them in Afghanistan and Iraq. Fuck sake. There was never a special relationship.
It wasn't the USA who funded the IRA. It was the American People, not the state, through private donations. Teddy Kennedy was responsible for putting allot of money in the IRA's pockets. The USA's stance during the troubles was to say or do very little for fear of pissing of the 40million odd Irish American voters. Wasn't their concern or problem anyway as its thousands of miles away. Pity couldn't say the same about the ME.
The majority of the IRA money came from ordinary, often poor Catholic ppl in Northern Ireland. People who witnessed the brutality shown by the British and Unionist forces at the time. Coupled with family and friends being interned ala Gitto. You create not just young impressionable terrorists but a funding populous of pissed of people. All the same mistakes are being repeated at Gitto and with the new UK anti terror laws.
