I HAVE BOUGHT THIS SET-UP, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Some of the parts have arrived, just waiting on the CPU, Optical + hard drives and mobo from a different supplier

I am building this rig for my family computer, it won't be used so much for gaming just an all round fast P.C. I already have a tower (Lian Li) before you ask. The hard drives will be in RAID and I will NOT be overclocking.

I want to make sure that power supply sufficient enough for all those parts and may change the CPU as it might be slightly overkill but I will decided that when it comes to the price drop.

EDIT: I have found this RAM for only £8 pounds more (That's about $16 for you Americans)

for non-gaming the 8500 is enough. If it's going to be a PC for occasional gaming then I advice an 8600(and yes there's an passive 8600).

looks good. I just built a similar PC for my father (q9300, 4GB, raid5, 8500GT, ...)
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

In b4 Freezer7Pro tells you how the great freezer 7 pro is.

The processor is overkill, and the 8500gt is perfect for your needs. I have one in another machine, as a backup incase anything happens to my 8800gt. <3

far from a crappy mother board.  I have the older version (basically just copper heatsinks insted of black) and is a rock solid mobo.  If anything for a non oc'd system it's probably overkill.

Anywhere other than overclockers XD Every build I price they are always the most expensive. Try www.ebuyer.co.uk and see what the price is.

I took that into account I am getting most of the parts from www.cclonline.co.uk where I can pick the parts up from.

If you're not planning on overclocking, is the Freezer 7 Pro really necessary?

got any popo lolo intersting?

I would actually look into a quad core (Q6600) at that price range for a good all-around performer, as well as future-proof.

And that mobo is an overkill if not overclocking. I'd go P31.

you could have got Vista cheaper from Ebuyer, Vista HP OEM 4 bit is £58 PLUS VAT

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/123067

£10 quid could have gone towards an improved CPU/GPU

lol, actually i dont. that mobo is really terrible for oc'n and far from being stable. choose a diff one, and as for your 8500gt, "it goes to show how much you fail". lol choose a diff vid card, something better, 8500gt's are bleh, get a 8800gs or a gt...hell, get a 9600gt for only 150.

ABIT IP35 is what I would recommend straight next to Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 -series for that price range. It is a solid mobo, and good for overclocking. Only bad thing is that it tends (at least used to) have problems on 45nm CPUs without bios update. Not sure about newer revisions.

As for the GPU, 8500GT is more than enough when no gaming is planned on this rig.

haha, wow...i did READ "THE AIM", and he wants a FAST computer, last time I checked, the 8500gt's "fail".

you dont have to own the TOP-OF-THE-LINE vid card, at least something close to 8800gs, which is  fast and cheap...

Does that one comes with SP1? Its better if you have SP1 buit in so you dont have to download it each time you install vista. I could only find the SP1 32bit not 64 though

Why did you buy an Intel system when it is not for gaming?
