Realistic commanders guide (without the BS)
This is is after the 1.2.
I've noticed some commander guides where they all start with
"UAV is a little plane that bla bla bla" everyone knows the game so
let's just cut that.
Basically, you can't really give ANY real advice because all teams
are different, all players have different goals, all maps are different
and so on. But I'll give you a few tips that help me out a lot.
1st
Do not HIDE and and just sit there the entire round, fight any way
you can. If a tank/APC is avalible, USE IT and drive to the front line!
2nd
Commander is ALLWAYS an engineer, and NEVER uses supplyboxes
to repair (unless you're at the other side of the map).
Keep dropping supply boxes as close to your own flags as possible,
also next to armor that needs it.
ARTY
The most important thing. Most of the matches are won by ticket
loss due to kills. Not to flags. So dropping good arty (20-30 arty kills
IAR) is a certain way to get ahead.
When the game is tight at the end, both teams with 15-20 tickests,
a good arty barage wins the match. Don't just drop arty as soon as
t's ready, wait for the right moment.
Important
Forget dropping arty if there is 1-2 player capping a flag, No one
GIVES a ****. let them have the flag, It usually leads to nothing on
most maps. Use your arty where there's lot's of enemies.
Lay AT mines. Block your base. Period.
Allways repair damaged assets in a vechicle if possible, it's 3X
faster.
In any game, at any time, HALF of your team will be complete
n00bs and wouldn't know how to play the map, where to go and
how to win.
That's just life.
How to be the perfect commander : personally, I'm good
with the tank. If I'm commander and I have the chance to take the
tank, I will, ALLWAYS! Screw those who say "commander
command" gimme the tank. BS. When I'm commander and in a
tank, I can UAV myself,resupply/repair myself, and drop arty. That
way (and I'm not joking) I get around 50 kills on any map, any
given time. 50 kills is 1/5 of the total tickets taken from the other team.
I know the maps and what flag to attack etc. so I
do it. Don't waste time explaining to your temmates where to
attack and how. It's very rare that squads actually pay attention to
the commander.
I have seen n00bs driving a tank and only have 5 kills.
That's just pathetic. If they get in the way and demand you TK
them (because you have the tank), so be it. Take one for the team.
Forget giving orders , doesn't work, maybe in clan matches
Just do it yourself! Storm them (flagcappers) with your
Jackhammer.
This will get you loads of kills and points. And that's the fun,
completely owning them. Most of the time I'll end up with more
actual kills than anyone on the team + the arty kills after that.
But you have to seriously be "good" to drive a tank in Karkand and
know where the enemy is, where your teammates are, drop the
arty at a good place etc. Otherwise there will be serious mutiny
votes against you Happened a lot to me in the beginning.
When you master it, you'll end up owning almost everyone. It's
priceless.
Example
Some times I'll join a team on serious loosing streak, TK for the
tank (MEC, karkand) command and just turn everything around.
Sometmies you have to sacrifice a n00b or two in order to have an
even match.
Quite selfish, isn't it?
