I have done commanding, but at this stage of the game I dont really care to.
i got one tooo
Commanding and Engineer are my last two things I will work on once every other kit and weapon badges are earned... I just suck at both very much.
well I think commander is the hardest job at bf2 - you have the overview of the whole battle - you warn - you talk (most of the times nobody answers) you bomb - you mark - and mostly nobody gives a shit - In fact they hate you - because you get the gold star when you ( your team) made a good job - commander can be so horribly - I am at rank 2.500 in commanding - and you talk talk talk - squad 1 - suburb is free - go! - no! squad 1 decides to spawn kill f.e. at karkand at the hotel) and you are sitting in your base - and you want to shoot the whole team on the moon.... so be a good commander,a good example, an idol. jump in a jeep - drive on your own - alone - to the gatehouse - get it - defend it alone - on ur own - and what happens - somebody likes to mountener ( sorry german - in our language it`s "meutern" kicking?? ) - but if you have just one squad ( always only one squad) that listens evrything will be ok... I think the best players have been commander for a while - it is just for the better understanding of the game. and I am not talking about commanders who fight - I hate them - they work for themselves not for the team. unfortunately theguys in the higher rranks are biored by being just commander - -so they jump in the tank - kill kill kill - and when they have the time - they make a scan - just for themselves! what happens? team loses!
I think they would impress their fat girlfriends - me as a player I am fucked up by those cunts !

but u get a ass load of kills without dying though.Defiance wrote:

Those of yall who have the metal I respect. Esp those who are damn good at commanding. I know that there are asshats that dont listen to us and they end up making us losse the round. So thats the badge im after then its after the 25k killl badge then the metourious badge.
I would get commanding and eng out the way first cuz eng sucks balls. The other kits are worth the time.

...and you do not get one point per kill..... and most one the times you are sitting peacefully in ur corner and than you get knifed (knifed? killed by a guy wth a knife in his hands)
I got like 65 more hours of commander. Working to get that medal. I like the odd ones
I might get a second one in a while, who knows. Commanding many rounds in a row does get very boring, though.
It gets boring but after a while it gets intersting...sometimes!
got mine a while ago, I like commanding
Got mine awhile ago... Nearly eligable for my second (just need squad leader/member hours).
The only thing that annoyed me was getting a few vet badges due to the 20+ kill via artillery ( I would have prefered to earn these actually killing not arty.
Also i agree with the part of ya squads saying (ROGER THAT, TEN FOUR) and do the exact opposite of what you asked. I remeber 1 round as commander i was top flag caps, defend and cap assist. LOL WTF

P.S. Last time i looked , think i was ranked 704 as commander !!!

Artillery doesn't affect your KD ratio, those points just come on your stats as 'commander points'MooseRyder wrote:
commanding is a good way to get a better K:d ratio with the artilery, and trying to kill an ennemy by dropping a crate on him is always AWSOME! lol that make my day when i can do it (rarely happened though)
(If I am right)
i have two of those

Isn't it. Total amount of your team divived by the amount of players in your team?Defiance wrote:

lol i think that medal was the first or one of the first i ever got...
Commanding is boring as batshit, 10 hours was enough for me.
I just got mine the other night.
I find commanding a lot of fun. It's so awesome, you get to see everything on the battlefield, and most of the time, sit back and not have to worry about getting killed. It also allows you to get your kit times up for the expert badges, which is great if you're not good with a certain kit.
I got my 100 hours command easily (in fact I had ~120 hours when I got my distinguished service medal), but I was SL time that really screwed me over. In fact, it was only in the last 50-100 hours that I got the hours up.

Nup, it contributes to you KDR for whatever kit you are using- hence the easy way to get badges, it was a good way to get rid of my old n00b ratios, in my first 20 hours of play i had 8 hours of sniper and 12 hours of Spec ops, i had a kdr of .5 and a spm of .7, commanding helped me3lmo wrote:

Old old thread. Were the requirements even the same back then?j4mi3-k1ll3r wrote:

Anyway, 89 hours of commanding away from my 2nd so I'm not going to hold my breath.
WRC, now that's a sign of dedication.
