Huzzah, we're near the top of a list and it's NOT about crime statistics!
Anyway yes, dupont and logan and downtown are pretty decent neighborhoods. Not only walkable, but there's low risk of getting gunned down (compared to the entirety of Southeast).

the two lowest areas in D.C. are Anacostia and Barnaby Woods, where people walk somewhat but mostly are car dependent

Interesting ... DuPont circle is well known as a gay district, and I notice that San Francisco is at the top of the list. Coincidence?HurricaИe wrote:

Are gays making parts of America fabulous?

I think like 40% of "Vancouverites" are Asian.
Hey, the less gas I have to use the better. I say we let the gays marry; if we work with them maybe they'll cure cancer!OrangeHound wrote:

And it should be noted that the score is solely based on whether you can get access to lots of things (food, clothing, banking etc) without walking too far. This sort of coincides with crime in a way; not a lot of businesses like building in Southeast.
My dad's house is actually in the U Street corridor (4th for DC's neighborhoods). Some parts look slightly sketchy but it really is a great neighborhood for walking.

Chicago loop ftw. DC National Mall is pretty good. I'll be doing the Beacon Hill Boston walk in August.
I do enjoy a nice walk from downtown to Back Bay to Fenway.

SF, NY and Bass-tin are top 3. Go figure.
I got a 66. But since the sidewalks on my block have all gotten repaved over the past few weeks it's likely to go up allot.

91 and i the city i live in is a shithole
Blackbelts are just whitebelts who have never quit.
85/100. everything available in less than a mile, but still a 20 minute walk.
edit- though, indeed it IS the kind of area you would be able to walk in, though we've had a couple stabbings recently.
