Vista sucks

Avoid Vista if possible.

I'm an IT guy at a mid sized company, and about half the Vista machines have really odd problems. For one user, everytime she restarts, her entire desktop gets wiped. And on my machine, a week ago I had to burn a large number of CDs (~500) and halfway through Vista flopped over and died. I had to do a reinstall.

I've spent a lot of time reading about Vista on the Microsoft forums and the consensus is that it is probably the most bug filled OS in a while.

Really? I've been using Vista for the past month and I'm starting to prefer it more over XP. I'm slowly transferring things over and getting programs installed so I can format my XP drive.

Yea, i have been on Vista for about a year, and not once have i had any problems. The thought of going back to XP makes me weep a little.

Yeah I had no probs with it until the latest update it installed. Thats when it crapped out. I was using it for 3 mos before it got weird.

I'm on Server08 and I have to say I'm starting to prefer it to XP. There are a bunch of little details in there that are really handy that weren't there in XP.

I've had a lot less problems on Vista than on XP. (Except for compatibility, but that is normal on a new OS)

EDIT:Yea i haven't liked vista too much. It always gives me little problems and it slows my games. But thats what i get for running it on an older computer.

Vista IS sometimes a pain in the butt.At least for me.Had some issues last year which costed me 400 euros (Changed hard drive and gfx card)
But now they are fine,to be honest I would never switch back to xp.

Really? Do you game on it? Server OS's are usually really bad for gaming as they have tons of overhead built into them. They also are configured by default to give background processes priority over foreground unless you manually change that. This means your game gets shafted when the OS wants to update its IP or the AV wants to look over a file or something.

I've been running a Vista machine since September, and rarely have any problems with it, and I often leave it running for weeks without shutdown and it doesn't have any problems, its stable and reliable.

nobody asked you.

Vista works alright for me, it's glitchy in some aspects but I keep my computer running for weeks and it doesn't suffer any slowdown or problems so I'm happy enough with it.
