All right, so as some of you know, I'm into remixing songs. I want to take it to the next level. I need a program which can take songs and split them into their component tracks (guitar, synth, drums, etc...).
Lots of karmaz to go out to any suggestions.
thx

I'm not sure you can do that. I don't think it's possible to take a track and just simply split it up into all it's different parts. You'd have to somehow get the original tracks (like in NIN's case when Trent puts up all the tracks to a song and you can download and mix them any way you want).

Yeah, that's what I gathered. It'd be kind of cool though. I'd be willing to pay up to $15000 (fifteen thousand) for one. FYI.

Closest thing to that that I know of is on my Realtek control panel. It can for the most part take out the voice, but it makes the rest of the song like shit

as far as I know that's absolutely impossible.

unless you have the original with it all broken up, it isn't possible

Yeah it is possible in some songs, to filter out the other instruments and sounds. But it is difficult, very time consuming, you need the right software, and if the instruments/sounds aren't all distinctly different then it's going to be really hard.

Yes, this is really the only thing possible. And that is the result. If you want I could explain how, because I've actually done it. And OP: Unless you have the original tracks pre-split, no luck remixing it.

Guess your best bet it to just schmooze with the artists, make some amazing remixes, and hope for future work

Better yet, l2 instruments and re-record the tracks yourself.

The program Finale will take a MIDI file and split it into different instruments. As far as real songs (MP3) go...I'm not sure.

OR

Adobe Audition

Use Adobe Audition 3 to:

    * Create your own music
    * Record and mix a project
    * Produce a radio spot
    * Clean up audio for a movie
    * Compile and edit a soundtrack

Not sure if this is what you're after but I hope it helps.

If you want to do this with an MP3, there is no automatic way to do it.
