summary: not cheap by any means - still >30k for installation AFTER rebate. reduced electric bill by 90% though which is good. will require maintenance like cleaning panels due to tree debris and ash from CA fires, etc.
of course we anticipate that solar panel efficiency should improve over time. Further, with more and more installations occuring, the price should also come down. but...for those first adopters...ouch!
