After being a loyal Microsoft flight sim user for many many years, I decided to give x-plane 9 a chance. I have to say it beats FSX hands down. This is not a well known flight sim by any means.....but it should be. I believe this sim is truly meant for those who fly or want to fly in real life. It is much more realistic in almost every way. It definitely took some getting used to that's for sure. It is not as user friendly as fsx, but maybe it is because I am not truly used to it yet. I recommend it for those of you who may be thinking about upgrading to fsx, or just want something new. For those of you who do not know me, I have a Commercial multi-engine pilots license, flight instructor licence, advanced ground instructor licence, airframe and powerplant mechanic licence, and a flight dispatch licence. I flew CRJ-200's for a regional airline before an eye disease ruined that for me. So, I know airplanes and sims very well. Its about all I know really.
Like I said, it will be VERY different to those of you used to microsoft, but it is worth it imo.
