A new saga in the failing  banks story has opened with a floundering Wachovia Bank apparently distributing fake bills to two different customers.
I wonder if they used their scanner.

This is bad.

"Ten (bills) in one transaction to come from one bank, that is definitely unusual," U.S. Secret Service representative Jim Glendinning said.

lol That'd be great to do during a bank robbery. Not just mark the bills, but give them completely fraudulent ones.

he. Our work got some badass copiers.  Someone tried to xerox a 50.  The machine blacked out the whole bill.  It was wierd.  It was tried with a one and it came out looking just like real dollar.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

It is the marking on the 50 that caused it to black out.  Try any of the newer bills

Fishy story any hoo.  Man transfers money from one bank to another and some turn out to be counterfeit.

Eh? How the hell does that work? I'd have thought it'd be more to do with the higher denomination notes have something in them that prevents copying, rather than your copier won't let you.

The copier probably has an incoming digital line. When you copy a bill it could have symbols on it that cause a program to black out the bill or even worse, alert the feds.
