So I just put my new V1 tK fan in, and started, everything normal, temps reading 100-110 on core 1, less on core 2 of the CPU... but I had no sound, so I powered down, and plugged the card in (after making alterations to the top metal part that is basically the slot, not the actual card, no worries) to make it fit, I power back up...

Now the problem is the computer WILL not start, the mousepad takes a minute to start lighting up, and so does my G15 keyboard... I thought maybe not enough power so I unplugged the Graphics card to see if my USB devices would start, instead my computer FUCKING SCREAMED AT ME, high pitch, "EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" almost like my computer was saying "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO? WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?! PUT IT BACK PUT IT BACK!!!"

So yeah, nothing different but the fan, I was grounded during the replacement fan, no sparks,  nothing... But on the back panel of my ASUS Crosshair is a message that says, "CPR FAIL"

I googled and found

Most likely cause is bad mobo battery, improper Jumper settings, Bad BIOS flash, Bad BIOS file, Wrong memory, Bad memory, improperly installed memory, Bad (too high)Overclock settings, CPU not supported, or Cmos needs to be reset.
Everything is as it was before... I tried resetting the CMOS through the button on the board...

Ill be fucking around with it, any suggestions or ideas on wtf is wrong?

thanks

Sounds like a rather pointless addition this LCD screen thing, if all it can do is list every single problem you could have with a computer as the issue.

I think the button just resets the BIOS values. Try resetting it completely by jumper (if that even exists ) or taking out the battery.

Yeah sorry, not got any new ideas.

EDIT: I'm assuming you've tried starting it again without the soundcard?

Sooo... did you reset CMOS?

Do the norm...unplug every unneeded device, cycle RAM, reseat everything, check for shorts, swap components...etc.

yup

Im going to try swapping the ram out and then check to make sure that the CLR CMOS button is actually switched on (little pins have to be covered or something above it)

Ill pull the battery and check it, then change out the RAM

be back soon

So I did everything, swapped ram and removed battery and checked the Clear CMOS button, all good, and still didnt start

So I found my friends 6200 or something and plugged that in, and IT WORKS.

My monitor responds and actually displays the computer when NOT plugged into my EVGA 8800GTS G92 512MB

So, WHAT THE SHIT?

Is the card broken?
Not enough power?

Im lost right now...

That sounds bad, to make it fit? Your board might not have a slot for this? you might not have enough power as well...

On a side note: I had fun in scottsdale, very giving hoes there.

no no no https://img367.imageshack.us/img367/3783/28248252ht2.jpg this part

And I figured out the problem, after so much desperation I reached under the board (grounded, with static bracelet) and pushed down on the 8800GTS to make sure it was ALL the way in (before i could see maybe .5mm) and juiced it up, fingers crossed, and BAM! it fucking worked.

But what could I put behind the board to raise the board, I already only have 3 screws in there (my other 4 went to the stock CPU fan mount for my new fan)
And I know it cant be metal, what can it be? I have tonnes of shit laying around here...
